Funders Learning Network for Global Epilepsy, Session 3 | Band Foundation

Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 10am ET/ 5pm EAT | Virtual

The Funders Learning Network for Global Epilepsy — launched by the BAND Foundation — is a two-year pilot initiative to spark interest, build connections, and explore solutions for epilepsy care in Africa. Through curated briefings, peer exchange, and exposure to promising models in Africa, the Network helps funders learn together, discover synergies with their own portfolios, and identify high-impact opportunities for investment. This learning network is open to philanthropic funders, bilateral and multilateral donors, and other grantmakers, as well as their advisors. Epilepsy is an urgent but neglected health issue across Africa.

For the next meeting on October 29th, we will focus on epilepsy's role in unlocking the global brain health agenda. We are very excited to be joined by two amazing speakers with deep expertise in health system strengthening and integration of care for epilepsy and brain health:

  • Chido Rwafa-Madzvamutse, Regional Advisor for Mental Health at WHO AFRO

  • Jacopo Mattia Rovarini, Public Health Specialist, Amref Health Africa

By joining this Network, you can deepen understanding, connect with like-minded peers, and contribute to reducing a neglected but solvable source of global health inequity.
