Ethics and International Grantmaking: From Principles to Practice
Roundtable discussion with Joel H. Rosenthal, President, Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs
Grantmaking requires more than generosity. It requires attention to power, accountability, context, and consequence. The roundtable discussion, cohosted by NEID Global and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, will explore how ethics can meaningfully inform international grantmaking decisions. Drawing on member experiences, participants will work through ethical dimensions of practice and leave with sharper tools for assessing and navigating tradeoffs in their own philanthropy.
Joel H. Rosenthal is a scholar, teacher, and executive best known for his work in ethics and international affairs. He lectures frequently at universities and public venues across the United States and around the world.
The discussion will be moderated by NEID Global member, Kate Landon, Executive Director of the Ban Ki-moon Foundation.
