From Crisis to Catalyst: Rethinking Philanthropy at the Climate-Poverty Nexus

Following dramatic decreases in foreign aid, including the shuttering of USAID, private funders now play an increasingly crucial role in sustaining international development. Traditional philanthropy alone cannot meet the scale and urgency of now. From this crisis comes an opportunity for new models and bolder ideas, apropos to the UN General Assembly and Climate Week.

Forward Global, the Network of Engaged International Donors, and the Aid Transition Alliance will explore how philanthropy can catalyze greater impact at the climate-poverty nexus, through case studies by Acumen, BRAC, and the One Acre Fund. A panel discussion will offer practical, sustainable models for funders to consider, followed by small-group conversations where participants dive deeper into specific topics. The event will close with shared takeaways and clear calls to action.
