It is with great sadness that we are witnessing the violence unfold in Israel and Palestine. Many have highlighted that this is Israel’s 9/11 moment, an unspeakable terrorist attack with profoundly brutal implications for Israelis and Palestinians alike, and for global security. Many have also highlighted that Hamas’s blatant disregard for human life is in no way representative of Palestinians in Gaza or elsewhere. The situation has a dangerous dynamic of its own that has significant implications for the region as well as many other places around the world. Our hearts go out to the families of those who have lost their lives, those who are in imminent peril, and the innocent civilians caught in the middle of this hate and animosity that hopefully will not spiral out of control. We also know that many of you have relatives, friends and grantees/colleagues on both sides of this catastrophe. As we partner with our community to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and human rights for all, we are sharing opportunities to support them.
